Why FPV?
Never before has it been so important to hook the viewers attention. FPV is an additional layer of capabilty and style. It allows for shots that would otherwise be impossible and creates more interest in shots by leveraging manuevers that keep audience attention, like flying through tight gaps or doorways.
What experience do you have in drones?
I’ve been Part 107 licensed for over 4 years with two ALC-677 certificates, working primarily for real estate agents both private as well as agencies like Coldwell, EXP and Blum. I’ve familiarized myself with every consumer grade make and model of drone, built and repaired most, and continue to spend a lot of my free time flying and learning; pushing the limits in my off time so I know where they are in any professional environement.
How do I get into FPV?
The best first step is to get a simulator on Steam. Some good options are Uncrashed, Liftoff, or TRPY. (Velocidrone on Windows for best physics) You will save yourself a lot of money crashing digital drones instead of real ones in the beggining. Second; buy an FPV controller like Radiomaster Pocket. (Don’t get the cheapest radio controller you can find otherwise you’ll hate your experience.) You can use this for the sim and later for your real drone. Third; once you’ve got the hang of it; buy a cheap BetaFPV analog drone and headset to go with your controller. Watch Joshua Bardwell on YouTube; he is the go-to on all things FPV.
What’s the difference in FPV and FlyCam?
A FlyCam is a steady flying drone that is not designed for acrobatic manevers. On the other end FPV is fully manual and allows the pilot full freedom of movement. This control allows for cinematic and dynamic shots not possible with a traditional FlyCam.
Are you setup to live steam?
We can currently port into on-site production and lend our video feed. We are working to be independently streaming soon. This includes multi-service intenet connection, HUD overlay/logo, and live audience interaction.
How do you ensure your flights are safe around and over people?
We go through a meticulous pre-production checklist, surveying the event location both days and hours before any flights, noting all potential risks. We use Class 1 micro drones with 4k cameras that are under 100g (1/5th of a pound) and setup a small 8′ x 8′ area to safely takeoff, fly without distraction and land without risk of people walking into landing area.
What if there is an airport nearby?
We can easily account for airspace permissions days ahead, reach out to the proper authorities and get all the green lights before we fly. Whether indoors, outside, and most restricted spaces like near airports, prisons and military bases; we’ve got it takenn care of.
